meteorologist.id is a global atmospheric knowledge and intelligence platform. It is not primarily a forecast app: it connects science, data and visualisation so people can understand what the atmosphere is doing and why it matters.
Whenever something unusual happens in Earth's atmosphere, meteorologist.id should be one of the first places people go to understand why.

Observe
What is happening now — precipitation, temperature, wind, pressure, clouds, sea surface temperature.
Understand
Why it is happening — mechanisms explained as visual cause-and-effect chains.
Compare
How unusual it is — anomalies, percentiles and historical context against a stated baseline.
Explain
What it means — interpretation with uncertainty, methodology and sources.
Decide
Why it matters for a sector — later, and only with validated methods.
Scientific integrity
- Every scientific claim should be traceable to a dataset, a method and a source.
- Observations, analyses, reanalyses, forecasts and projections are labelled distinctly.
- Anomalies always state their baseline; trends always state their period.
- Generated imagery is never presented as a weather map, satellite image or evidence.
- Unfinished features are labelled Preview or Coming soon — never faked.
Project status
The site is in development. NASA satellite imagery and a first set of live values (climate indices, global temperature, active tropical cyclones) are connected, each labelled LIVE with its date and source. Everything else is still built against labelled fixtures; candidate sources are tracked on the Sources page.
